How to paste a command in 4 steps

How to Open the Console in Rust (PC)

The console lets you bind keys, change settings and run commands instantly. To open it:

  1. Press F1 in game. The console window appears.
  2. Type or paste (Ctrl+V) a command.
  3. Press Enter to run it. Press F1 again to close.

1. Quick Crafting Command: Store Resources in Your Craft Queue

Inventory full in the middle of a loot run? Press 0 and this bind queues a Tool Cupboard (wood), 2 Stone Barricades (stone) and 5 Sheet Metal Double Doors (metal fragments). The resources leave your inventory and sit in the crafting queue, freeing slots so you can loot and scoot. Cancel the queue at home and you get every resource back.

2. Rust Console Command: Instant Zoom

Vision is everything in Rust. This bind lowers your field of view while you hold the middle mouse button, giving you a zoomed-in look at a base, a roof camper or loot far away, then snaps back to your normal FOV when you let go. No trip to the settings menu mid-fight.

3. Adaptive Look-At Radius: Rust Console Commands

The look-at radius decides how easily you can target doors, boxes and building blocks. Pressing L cycles between MIN, DEFAULT and MAX and prints which one is active in chat, making base building and looting easier.

5. Hover Loot: Faster and Safer Looting

Hover loot lets you grab an item just by holding a key and moving your mouse over it. The default key is awkward mid-raid, so this puts it on a side mouse button. Hold it and sweep across boxes while keeping full WASD movement.

7. Auto-Craft Bandages: Instant Healing

Early wipe bow fights are won by whoever heals first. Press H and a bandage (4 cloth) goes straight into your crafting queue, with a “+bandage” message in chat so you know it worked.
