Rust Halloween Skins 2026: Alien Costume, Spooky Decor Bundle & Every Price

The Rust Item Store switched to its Halloween rotation with the Darkness Falls patch on October 22, 2026. There are 36 limited Halloween items on sale during the event: six new official Facepunch items led by the inflatable Alien Costume and the Spooky Decor Bundle, 15 returning Halloween classics like the Hockey Mask and Dracula Cape, and 15 new community workshop skins, eight of which glow in the dark.

New Rust Halloween Skins in 2026

Facepunch added six new official items for Darkness Falls. All of them can be bought one by one, and five of them also come in the Spooky Decor Bundle.

The Alien Costume is the stand out. Because it replaces wooden pants, it has the protection of wooden pants, not a full armour set, so it is a fun skin for roaming and base clips rather than a PvP kit. The three variants change the alien’s look, and the costume has its own model and animations, so it looks like you are being carried off by an inflatable alien.

Is the Spooky Decor Bundle Worth It?

Yes, if you want any two of the four decor items. The maths is simple, and Facepunch priced it so the bundle never costs more than buying the pieces.

Every Rust Halloween Skin and Price (2026)

The full limited Halloween rotation, in US dollars, as listed on the Steam Item Store on October 29, 2026. Regional prices vary. “Reskins” is the in-game item it changes.

Adding it up: the new items cost $21.95 either way, the Alien Costume plus the four single decor items or the Alien Costume plus the bundle (which adds the wreath and lights). The 15 returning items cost $65.85 and the 15 community skins cost $30.35. Buying every Halloween item once, with the bundle instead of its four single items, comes to $118.15.

Halloween Community Skins 2026

The 15 community skins are workshop designs that Facepunch accepted for this week’s store. Unlike the official items, they are normal skins for items you already craft, so you apply them at a repair bench or pick them when you craft. Eight of them glow in the dark, which looks great on a base at night but also makes that turret, sleeping bag or garage door easier to spot from outside.

• Best value: the Hayman Burlap set (headwrap, shirt and pants) costs $2.97 for a full scarecrow outfit on the cheapest early wipe clothing.
• Most used: the Trapped Soul Garage Door and Rest in Wraps Sleeping Bag, because every base has them. Both glow.
• Weapon skins: the Bone Crusher SKS and the Lich’s Staff for the Salvaged Sword are the only weapon skins in the community set.

Returning Halloween Store Items

These 15 official items come back every Halloween as limited store items. They first came out in earlier Halloween seasons, and several are deployables you can only place if you own them.

• Hockey Mask. The most popular Halloween skin. It reskins the Metal Facemask, so it keeps the full facemask protection.
• Dracula Mask and Cape. The mask is its own item that owners craft from 10 cloth, and the cape replaces the Vagabond Jacket. Full stats are in our Dracula Mask and Dracula Cape guides.
• Cultist Deer Torch. Once you own it, you respawn holding the skinned torch instead of the plain one.
• Skull. A skin for the Rock, the first thing you hold after every death.
• Skull Trophy. Put a player’s skull in it and it shows their name. 4 variants.
• Fogger-3000 and Strobe Light. Base gadgets: the fogger runs on low grade fuel and can fill a room with fog on a motion trigger, and the strobe has 3 speeds.

Free Rust Halloween Skins and Items

You do not need to buy anything to look the part this Halloween.

• Twitch drops (Round 54 Base Invaders). Rug (1 hour), Bed (2 hours), Garage Door (3 hours), Thompson (4 hours) and Large Wood Box (5 hours) skins on any drops enabled Rust stream until November 1, 23:59 UTC. The Spooky Backpack was a one day drop on the TwitchRivals channel on October 23. These are permanent Steam skins. How to claim: Rust Twitch drops guide.
• Zombie Wumpus Plush. Eligible Discord Nitro members can claim it with Discord Orbs in the Rust Game Shop on Discord from October 22 to November 5. It is a deployable plush with 70% comfort.
• Event costumes. Scarecrows drop the Ghost Costume, Frankenstein Mask, Mummy Mask and Scarecrow Wrap (2.3% each), and the Scarecrow and Mummy suits come from event loot. These are in-game items, so they wipe with the map. Drop rates are in our Halloween event guide.

Which Halloween Skins Are Worth Buying?

It depends on why you buy skins. Here is how we would spend the money:

• For your base: the Spooky Decor Bundle ($11.96). Wallpapers cover every wall, floor and ceiling you build, and the wreath and lights are exclusive.
• For yourself: the Hockey Mask ($3.99). You wear a Metal Facemask most of the wipe, so you see it all the time, and it is a classic.
• For laughs: the Alien Costume ($9.99). It is pure fun, but it only has wooden pants protection.
• On a budget: the Hayman Burlap set ($2.97 for all three) or the Ghost Rug ($1.99).
• As an investment: limited, bundle only and first year items usually hold value best once they leave the store. That points to the Halloween Wreath and String Lights (only in the bundle). Prices can drop as well as rise; our most expensive Rust skins list shows which old items held up.

How to Buy and Use Rust Halloween Skins

1. Open the Rust Item Store in Steam or from the in-game Store button, and pick the Limited tab. Our Rust Item Store guide explains the weekly reset.
2. Buy the item. Store items cannot be traded or sold on the Steam Community Market for one week after purchase.
3. For skins (Hockey Mask, SKS, garage door and so on), craft the item and choose the skin in the crafting menu, or apply it to an item you already have at a repair bench.
4. For the Alien Costume, Dracula Cape and other replacements, craft them in game: owning the item in your Steam inventory unlocks the recipe.
5. For wallpapers, load the skin in the Wallpaper Tool and paint it onto walls, floors or ceilings. Our wallpaper guide has the cloth cost.
