When Does Rust Console Wipe? Console Wipe Schedule & Times (2026)

Rust Console wipes on Thursdays at 18:00 UTC. Official monthly servers on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S wipe on the last Thursday of every month, and official weekly servers wipe every Thursday, both at 18:00 UTC. In the US that is 2:00 PM Eastern / 11:00 AM Pacific from March to early November, and 1:00 PM Eastern / 10:00 AM Pacific in winter. The next monthly console wipe is Thursday, October 29, 2026.

When Does Rust Console Wipe?

Rust Console Edition has two kinds of official server, and each has a fixed wipe day. Both wipe at the same time, 18:00 UTC on a Thursday:

• Monthly servers wipe once a month, on the last Thursday of the month. This is the main console wipe, and most official servers are monthly.
• Weekly servers wipe every Thursday. They suit players who can only put in a few days at a time, and they reset again on the last Thursday along with everything else.

Because it is the last Thursday, the console wipe never lands on the same day as the PC force wipe, which is always the first Thursday. Every official server wipes at once, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, in every region (US, EU, Asia and Oceania). There is no separate time for each region: the whole network resets at 18:00 UTC, so players in Australia get the wipe early on Friday morning.

Servers usually go down for a short while around the wipe, so expect to wait a few minutes before you can connect. On a monthly wipe that also brings a game update, you have to download the patch first, so turn on automatic updates on your PS5 or Xbox so it’s ready the moment servers come back.

Rust Console Wipe Time in Your Time Zone

The console wipe is pinned to 18:00 UTC, so your local time moves by an hour when your clocks change. “Summer” below means daylight saving time in the US and Europe (roughly March to October or early November); “winter” means standard time.

Rust Console Wipe Dates 2026 and 2027

These are the official monthly wipe dates, worked out from the last-Thursday rule. US times are Eastern.

Two dates to watch: November 26 is US Thanksgiving and December 31 is New Year’s Eve. The schedule doesn’t skip holidays, but Double Eleven can move a wipe around a holiday or a big update, and when it does it announces the change on its news page and social channels, so check the week before. Weekly servers wipe on every other Thursday in between.

Weekly vs Monthly Console Servers

Monthly servers give you four or five weeks with one base, which is what most groups want: time to build up, farm for a big raid and still have a week of endgame fights. Weekly servers are the better pick if you play a couple of evenings a week, because nobody gets a month-long head start. Bases on weekly servers reach high-tier loot faster and fights start sooner, but you lose everything after seven days. Do Blueprints Wipe on Rust Console?

Usually, no. On console a normal wipe is a map wipe: the map, every base, every box and all your loot are reset, but the blueprints you learned stay. A blueprint wipe resets the map and also wipes every learned blueprint, so it’s a full fresh start.

Double Eleven’s line since launch is that it avoids blueprint wipes where possible and only does one when a big update needs it for stability. So there’s no fixed BP wipe date on console: if one is coming, it is announced in the patch notes for that monthly wipe. When Do Community Console Servers Wipe?

Community servers (rented through G-Portal or Nitrado, see our Rust console servers guide) don’t follow the official schedule. The owner picks the wipe day, the time, whether blueprints wipe, gather rates, team limits and whether the server is open to PlayStation, Xbox or both. Most community servers still wipe on a Thursday so they line up with the official monthly or weekly wipe, but some wipe twice a week or every two weeks.

To find a community server’s schedule, check its name and description in the server browser (many put the wipe day in the title) or its Discord. Many community owners also wipe on the official monthly date, because that is when the new update arrives.

Do Console Updates Come With the Wipe?

Yes. New content on Rust Console Edition is released alongside the monthly wipe on the last Thursday, after a spell on the Public Test Branch. Patch notes go up on Double Eleven’s news page, often the day before. For example, update 1.16 (Unity 6.3 and the option to unclaim old beds and bags) arrived with the September 24, 2026 wipe.

• October 29, 2026: Double Eleven’s roadmap lists Overground Trains, the Halloween event and a new DLC for October. Overground Trains were on the test branch from October 6 to 22.
• November 26, 2026: the roadmap lists the Giant Excavator for November.
• December 31, 2026: the Christmas event is planned for December.

Rust Console Wipe vs PC Force Wipe

Console Rust and PC Rust are separate games with separate servers, so they have separate wipes. The PC force wipe happens on the first Thursday of every month at 7 PM UK time, when Facepunch releases its monthly update and every Steam server has to wipe. The console monthly wipe is three to four weeks later, on the last Thursday.

Rust Console Wipe Day Tips

1. Be online at 18:00 UTC. Popular official servers hit their player cap within minutes of a monthly wipe, and the queue builds fast. Have the update downloaded before the wipe.
2. Place a tool cupboard first. Your first base only needs to keep your stuff safe for the first night. Get a tool cupboard down so nobody can build you in.
3. Spread your sleeping bags. Put sleeping bags near monuments and resource spots so you can respawn close to loot, and hold Square or X to unclaim ones you don’t need any more.
4. Read the new map. Every wipe brings a new map, so monuments, rivers and roads move. Check the map before you pick a base spot.
5. Know what you keep. On most console wipes your blueprints stay, so you can craft guns and gear straight away once you have the materials.
6. Pick the right wipe length. Weekly servers if you play a few hours a week, monthly if your group wants a long build. Our Rust base designs guide has layouts for both.
