The Chandelier is the fanciest light in Rust. It hangs from your ceiling like a wagon wheel full of light bulbs, runs on 4 power, passes the rest of its power on to the next light, and it is the first ceiling light in the game that you can raise and lower.
This Chandelier Rust guide covers how to get it (it comes from the Exhibit Decor Pack), the craft cost, how much power it uses, how many chandeliers each power source can run, how to wire it, how to change its height, how it compares with the other lights and a few tips for using it in a real base.

What Is the Chandelier in Rust?
The Chandelier is an electrical deployable. Its in-game description reads “A large adjustable electric chandelier. Very fancy.” The model is a ring of scrap metal and bicycle wheel spokes with eight bare light bulbs, hanging from a ceiling plate on a geared rod.
You place it on the underside of a floor or ceiling tile and wire it to power with the Wire Tool, just like a Ceiling Light. It never needs fuel. Once it has power it stays lit until you cut the power.
What makes it different is the height setting. A normal ceiling light sits flat against the ceiling. The Chandelier can be lowered into the room, which looks great in tall rooms, stairwells and big shop or base builds with stacked floors.
How to Get the Chandelier
The Chandelier is a DLC item. It is part of the Exhibit Decor Pack, which Facepunch released with the September 4, 2025 update. The pack costs $12.99 on Steam or through the in-game store, and it reached the Rust Console Edition in March 2026.
Buying the pack unlocks the blueprint on your account for good, so you can craft a Chandelier on every server from the first minute of a wipe with no research and no tech tree. You cannot buy the Chandelier on its own. The pack also includes Fairy Lights, Bulb String Lights, two Fluorescent Strip Lights, two Moveable Spotlights, two Beanbag Chairs, a Wall Cabinet, a Clothing Mannequin and three wallpapers. The wallpapers work with our Rust wallpaper guide, and you can see the rest of the paid content in our Rust item store guide.

How to Craft a Chandelier
The recipe is just 100 metal fragments, crafted while you stand at a Workbench Level 1 or higher. It takes 30 seconds at a Workbench 1, 15 at a Workbench 2 and 7 at a Workbench 3.
That is double the cost of a Ceiling Light, but 100 frags is still nothing after the first few hours of a wipe. A single run of metal ore through a large furnace covers several chandeliers.
Pack owners know the blueprint by default. The Facepunch wiki also lists it at the Research Table, but that only gives you a physical blueprint item, which is useful for an Industrial Crafter. It does not unlock the Chandelier for someone who does not own the pack.
How Much Power Does a Chandelier Use?
A Chandelier uses 4 rW, twice as much as a Ceiling Light. It has a Passthrough output that sends on whatever power is left after it takes its 4, so you can chain several in a row without splitters. Divide your power source’s output by 4 to see how many it can run:
| Power source | Output | Chandeliers |
|---|---|---|
| Small Rechargeable Battery | 15 rW | 3 |
| Large Solar Panel | up to 20 rW (0 at night) | 5 |
| Water Wheel | 30 rW | 7 |
| Small Generator | 40 rW | 10 |
| Medium Rechargeable Battery | 50 rW | 12 |
| Large Rechargeable Battery | 100 rW | 25 |
Remember that a battery also has to last the night. A small battery stores 400 rWm, so three chandeliers (12 rW) drain it in a little over half an hour. For a base that stays lit all night, charge a medium or large battery from a solar panel setup, or use a Test Generator on a creative or build server.
How to Wire a Chandelier
Wiring is the same as any other light. Grab the Wire Tool and connect outputs to inputs:
- Connect your battery or solar panel Power Out to an Electrical Switch Input.
- Connect the switch Output to the Chandelier Power In.
- To add another chandelier, connect the first one’s Passthrough to the next one’s Power In.
- Flip the switch. Every chandelier in the chain lights up while there is at least 4 rW left for it.
Swap the switch for a Timer if you want the lights on for a set time, or an HBHF Sensor if you only want them on when someone walks in.
How to Raise and Lower the Chandelier
Look at a placed Chandelier and hold E to open its radial menu, then pick raise or lower. You need to be authorized on the base’s Tool Cupboard to see the options, so raiders and visitors cannot move it.
It can drop roughly 8 metres from its ceiling plate, which is about two and a half wall heights. That is plenty for a tall foyer or a stairwell, but be careful lowering it into a walkway. Players do get stuck in it, and a chandelier blocking a doorway in a fight is a bad way to die.
Chandelier vs Other Rust Lights
| Light | Cost | Power / fuel | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chandelier | 100 frags (DLC) | 4 rW | Big rooms, show bases, shops |
| Ceiling Light | 50 frags | 2 rW | Every room, best value |
| Industrial Wall Light | 30 frags | 1 rW | Corridors and walls |
| Lantern | 25 frags + 15 low grade fuel | Burns low grade | Bases with no power yet |
| Search Light | 500 wood + 200 frags (WB2) | Electric | Lighting the outside of a compound |
If you only want light, the Ceiling Light gives the same coverage for half the frags and half the power. Pick the Chandelier when the look matters: a shop next to your vending machine, a clan main room, or a decorated base with a rug, a sofa and a locker wall.
Chandelier Tips
- Always add a switch. Turn the lights off when you log out so your battery is full when you need it.
- Chain with Passthrough. You do not need splitters for a row of lights. Each chandelier passes on what it does not use.
- Size the battery. At 4 rW each, three chandeliers already max out a small battery. Plan for a medium battery if you want more than that.
- Mix in cheap lights. Use the Chandelier in the room people see and Ceiling Lights in corridors, loot rooms and the airlock.
- Mind your windows. A bright chandelier shows through windows at night and tells raiders where you live. Cover windows with metal window bars or shutters.
