Ferry Terminal Rust: Puzzle, Green Card, Loot, Recycler & Camera Codes (2026)

Rust monument guide, 2026

The Ferry Terminal is one of the easiest monuments in Rust to loot early in a wipe. It is a coastal port with no radiation and no scientists. It has a recycler, a public car lift, a repair bench and a research table. It also has a free green keycard on a desk, and a green card puzzle that pays out a blue keycard and a Basic Blueprint Fragment.

This ferry terminal Rust guide covers where it spawns, the layout, how to do the puzzle step by step, what loot to expect, the camera codes, and what the ferry itself is for.

TL;DR The Ferry Terminal is a coastal monument added in the Deep Sea update (July 2023). It has no radiation, no scientists and is not a safe zone. Expect about 26 loot barrels, 10 crates and 6 oil barrels, plus a recycler next to a public car lift. A green keycard spawns free on a desk. For the puzzle, put an electric fuse in the box in the left side shack, flip the switch behind it, then swipe the green card at the shack on the far side. The room holds a blue keycard, a Basic Blueprint Fragment and 2 crates. Camera codes: FERRYDOCK, FERRYPARKING, FERRYUTILITIES, FERRYLOGISTICS.

What Is the Ferry Terminal in Rust?

The Ferry Terminal is a monument that Facepunch added in the Deep Sea update in July 2023, the same update that brought drivable tugboats and the ocean refresh. It looks like a small passenger port: a warehouse, a parking yard, a departures lobby, shipping containers and a long dock on the water.

It was built for Nexus, a system that lets players ride a ferry from one server to a connected server and take their gear with them. On normal servers no ferry runs, so the terminal plays as a mid tier loot monument. In the Meta Shift update in October 2025 Facepunch gave it a green card puzzle room, along with the Dome and Radtown, so it is now worth a stop on every early wipe route.

It sits in the same tier as the Harbor, the Satellite Dish and the Sewer Branch. Our Rust monuments guide ranks them all.

Where to Find the Ferry Terminal

Where to find the Ferry Terminal in Rust: it spawns on the shoreline, and you can reach it by rowboat, RHIB, tugboat or by car using the roads to the car lift
Always on the coast. Pick your ride, then hide it.

The Ferry Terminal always spawns on the shoreline, with its dock on open water. Open your map and look along the coast for the monument label. Not every procedural map has one, so check before you plan a route around it.

Because it is on the water, a boat is the fastest way in. A rowboat is cheap and quiet. A RHIB is faster and carries more. A tugboat works as a floating base you can park offshore. Roads also run to the yard, so a modular car can drive straight onto the car lift. See our Rust vehicles guide for every option.

Ferry Terminal Layout

Ferry Terminal layout in Rust: warehouse entrance, back alley barrels, recycler and car lift in the middle of the yard, the office desk with the green card across from the recycler, the departures lobby with a research table, and the yellow container with a repair bench
Five areas and one loop. The recycler sits in the middle.
  • Warehouse entrance. A few crates and barrels by the gate. Good first stop if you come in by road.
  • Back alley. A line of loot barrels along the wall. Break them on the way past.
  • Recycler and car lift. The middle of the yard. Three oil barrels sit near the recycler.
  • Office desk. In the building across from the recycler. The free green card spawns on a table here.
  • Departures lobby. The main terminal building. The research table is inside.
  • Yellow container. A small shipping container with the public repair bench and sometimes a little loot.

How to Do the Ferry Terminal Puzzle

Ferry Terminal puzzle in Rust: grab a green keycard, put an electric fuse in the box in the left shack, flip the switch behind that shack, then swipe the green card at the shack on the far side to get a blue keycard, a Basic Blueprint Fragment and 2 crates
Fuse, switch, swipe. The blue card is the prize.

You need one green keycard and one electric fuse. The fuse is not the heavy fuse from the Power Plant. It is the normal fuse you find in crates and barrels.

  1. Get a green card. Take the free one from the desk in the building across from the recycler, or bring your own.
  2. Insert the fuse. Find the metal shack on the left side of the terminal and put the electric fuse in its fuse box.
  3. Flip the switch. Go round the back of that shack and turn the switch on.
  4. Swipe the card. Run to the metal shack on the opposite edge of the monument and swipe the green card on the reader. The door opens on a timer, so do not stop to loot on the way.
  5. Loot the room. Take the blue keycard, the Basic Blueprint Fragment and the 2 crates.

Keycards wear down by one use each time you swipe, so a card from the desk can still be used elsewhere afterwards. Take the blue card to a blue puzzle like the Water Treatment Plant or the Train Yard for a red card. The fragment is one of the five Basic Fragments you need for Workbench 2, explained in our Rust blueprints guide.

Ferry Terminal Loot

Ferry Terminal loot in Rust: about 26 loot barrels, about 10 normal and military crates, 6 oil barrels with 3 by the recycler, a free green keycard, and components like metal pipes, springs, gears and tech trash
Mostly barrels, with enough crates for early components.

One full lap of the Ferry Terminal gives you roughly 26 loot barrels, 10 crates and 6 oil barrels. The crates are a mix of normal and military, and the puzzle room adds two more. That is enough for a steady stream of metal pipes, springs, gears, tech trash and the odd weapon part.

Oil barrels drop crude oil, which you can turn into low grade fuel at a refinery. Everything you do not need can go straight into the recycler in the yard, which turns it into scrap.

Recycler, Car Lift, Repair Bench and Research Table

Ferry Terminal utilities in Rust: one recycler next to the car lift, a public car lift, a repair bench in the yellow container and a research table in the departures lobby, plus the CCTV codes FERRYDOCK, FERRYPARKING, FERRYUTILITIES and FERRYLOGISTICS
Recycle, repair and research without going home.

The Ferry Terminal has one recycler. It sits in the middle of the yard next to the public car lift, where you can edit modular car parts without building your own lift. The repair bench is in a small yellow shipping container, and the research table is in the departures building.

Since it is not a safe zone, anyone can shoot you while you recycle. If you are a solo, recycle in short loads and keep your scrap moving home. If you want a recycler where nobody can shoot you, use the safe zone ones at Outpost or Bandit Camp.

Ferry Terminal Camera Codes

The Ferry Terminal has four CCTV cameras. Type these codes in capitals into any computer station to check the monument before you go:

Camera codeWhat it shows
FERRYDOCKThe dock and the water, so you can see boats
FERRYPARKINGThe parking yard by the road entrance
FERRYUTILITIESThe utility area of the yard
FERRYLOGISTICSThe warehouse and container side

The codes are the same on every server and every wipe. The full list for every monument is in our Rust CCTV codes guide.

The Ferry and Nexus

The Ferry Terminal and Nexus in Rust: built for Nexus ferries between connected servers, added in the 2023 Deep Sea update, green puzzle added in October 2025, Nexus ferry tested on the staging branch in August 2026, and no live ferry on official servers yet
Built for server travel. For now, it is a loot stop.

The terminal’s dock is where a Nexus ferry would pick players up and carry them to another server in the same Nexus cluster, with whatever they are carrying. Facepunch built the monument around that system in 2023, before Nexus was ready.

In August 2026 a Nexus ferry build went onto the staging branch for testing. On official servers no ferry runs yet. Some community servers use plugins to spawn a ferry for fun, but that is a server mod, not the base game. If Facepunch ships Nexus ferries on live servers, we will update this guide.

Ferry Terminal Tips

Ferry Terminal tips in Rust: check the FERRYDOCK camera first, bring an electric fuse or the puzzle room stays shut, recycle on site and bank the scrap, and watch the water because boats arrive quietly
Loot fast and leave by sea.
Tip 1 Check FERRYDOCK on a computer station before you leave base. If boats are parked at the dock, someone is already there.
Tip 2 Carry a fuse every time. Fuses drop from barrels and crates, and without one the puzzle room stays shut no matter how many green cards you have.
Tip 3 Do the puzzle first, then loot the barrels. The blue card is the most valuable thing here, and you want it in your pocket before anyone else shows up.
Tip 4 Watch the water. Boats are quiet until they are close, and the dock gives anyone arriving by sea a clear look at the yard.
Heads up The Ferry Terminal is not a safe zone. It has no scientists, so the only danger is other players, and the recycler is the most camped spot on the monument.

Ferry Terminal FAQ

Does the Ferry Terminal have radiation in Rust?

No. The Ferry Terminal has no radiation, so you can loot it and do the puzzle in normal clothes without a hazmat suit.

Are there scientists at the Ferry Terminal?

No. There are no scientists or other NPCs at the Ferry Terminal. The only threat is other players, because it is not a safe zone.

Does the Ferry Terminal have a recycler?

Yes. It has one recycler in the middle of the yard, next to the public car lift. It also has a repair bench in a yellow container and a research table in the departures building.

How do you do the Ferry Terminal puzzle?

Put an electric fuse in the fuse box in the metal shack on the left side of the terminal, flip the switch behind that shack, then swipe a green keycard at the metal shack on the opposite edge. The room has a blue keycard, a Basic Blueprint Fragment and 2 crates.

Where is the green card at the Ferry Terminal?

A green keycard spawns on a table inside the building across from the outdoor recycler. You can take it without doing any puzzle and use it straight away on the green card reader.

Do you need a fuse for the Ferry Terminal?

Yes. The green card reader only works after you put one electric fuse in the fuse box and flip the switch behind the same shack. It is the normal electric fuse, not the heavy fuse used at the Power Plant.

What are the Ferry Terminal camera codes?

FERRYDOCK, FERRYPARKING, FERRYUTILITIES and FERRYLOGISTICS. They are the same on every server and must be typed in capitals.

Can you ride the ferry in Rust?

Not on official servers yet. The terminal was built for Nexus ferries that carry players between connected servers. A Nexus ferry build was tested on the staging branch in August 2026, but no ferry runs on normal live servers.

When was the Ferry Terminal added to Rust?

In the Deep Sea update in July 2023. Its green card puzzle room came later, in the Meta Shift update in October 2025.
