This Rust raid chart shows how many explosives it takes to break every common wall, door, window and deployable, and which boom does it for the least sulfur. A stone wall takes 2 C4, a sheet metal wall takes 4 C4, an armored wall takes 8 C4, a sheet metal door takes 63 explosive 5.56 rounds and an armored door takes 3 C4 or 250 explo ammo. Download the chart as a high resolution image or a print-ready PDF below, or copy the numbers from the table.

The chart comes in three versions. All of them are free, with no sign-up.
How to print it: open the PDF, choose landscape and fit to page, and print page 2 if you want to save ink. It fits US Letter and A4. Page 1 is the same dark chart you see above, which looks best on a phone or a second screen next to your game. Feel free to share the image in your clan Discord, just leave the site name in the footer.
Full Rust Raid Chart Table
Here is the same chart as a table, so you can search it or copy it. Numbers are how many of each explosive it takes to destroy one piece from the hard (strong) side. Red is the cheapest option in sulfur, and the last column gives that total.

The counts come from the game’s damage values for each explosive against each building grade or deployable. C4, rockets, satchels and beancans deal the same damage to the soft side and the hard side of a wall, so those numbers hold from either direction. Melee and bullets are a different story, which is why soft siding mostly matters when you raid with tools or guns. Our eco raid calculator prices those no-sulfur tool and fire raids.
A note on explo ammo: explosive 5.56 damage depends on the gun. The chart uses the Semi-Automatic Rifle and LR-300, which need the most rounds, so it’s the safe number to bring. With an AK or M39 a few targets take slightly less: a wooden door takes 18 rounds, a tool cupboard 9, an auto turret 100 and a stone wall 182. Sheet metal, garage and armored doors are the same with every gun (63, 150 and 250).
Raid Chart: Walls
Walls are where most of the sulfur in a raid goes, so this is the part of the chart worth learning by heart.
- Twig wall (10 HP): one of anything, or two explo rounds. You can also just hit it with a rock.
- Wood wall (250 HP): 1 C4, 2 rockets, 3 satchels or 49 explo ammo (1,225 sulfur). Fire also works on wood, so molotovs and incendiary rockets are an option.
- Stone wall (500 HP): 2 C4 (4,400 sulfur), 4 rockets, 10 satchels or 185 explo ammo (4,625 sulfur).
- Sheet metal wall (1,000 HP): 4 C4 (8,800 sulfur), 8 rockets, 23 satchels or 400 explo ammo.
- Armored wall (2,000 HP): 8 C4 (17,600 sulfur), 15 rockets, 46 satchels or 799 explo ammo. Almost always cheaper to go through a door next to it.
Foundations, floors and half walls of the same grade take the same counts as a full wall. The one difference is the sheet metal foundation, which takes a few more explo rounds (461) than a sheet metal wall.
Raid Chart: Doors
Doors have less health than the walls around them, so a good raid path goes door to door. Explosive 5.56 ammo is the cheapest option on every door on the chart.
| Door | HP | Cheapest | C4 | Satchels |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wooden door | 200 | 19 explo (475 sulfur) | 1 (2,200) | 2 (960) |
| Sheet metal door | 250 | 63 explo (1,575 sulfur) | 1 (2,200) | 4 (1,920) |
| Garage door | 600 | 150 explo (3,750 sulfur) | 2 (4,400) | 9 (4,320) |
| Armored door | 1,000 | 250 explo (6,250 sulfur) | 3 (6,600) | 15 (7,200) |
| Ladder hatch | 250 | 63 explo (1,575 sulfur) | 1 (2,200) | 4 (1,920) |
Double doors take the same as the single door of the same grade, and a code lock adds nothing because the lock breaks with the door. If you don’t have a rifle and a Workbench 3 yet, satchel charges are the best door option: 4 satchels open a sheet metal door for 1,920 sulfur.
Raid Chart: Windows, High Walls & Deployables
- Metal window bars and reinforced glass windows (500 HP): 2 C4 (4,400 sulfur) or 200 explo ammo (5,000). Usually cheaper to hit the wall or door next to them.
- Metal shop front (750 HP): 3 C4, 6 rockets, 18 satchels or 300 explo ammo.
- High external walls (500 HP): the wood version takes 98 explo ammo (2,450 sulfur) or 2 C4. The stone version takes 2 C4, same as a stone wall. Gates take the same as the walls.
- Tool cupboard (100 HP): 10 explo rounds (250 sulfur) or one satchel. Killing the TC stops the defenders from repairing and lets you build.
- Auto turret (1,000 HP): 3 HV rockets (600 sulfur), 2 satchels or 1 C4. Plain rockets are a waste here: it takes 4.
- SAM site (1,000 HP): 2 satchels (960 sulfur) or 1 C4. HV rockets are bad against a SAM (34).
Fire is often cheaper still on deployables. Molotovs cost no sulfur and burn down turrets, SAM sites and wooden items, and a single incendiary rocket kills an auto turret. Our molotov guide has those numbers.
Sulfur Cost of Every Explosive
To compare explosives fairly you have to count the sulfur inside the gunpowder and explosives too. Gunpowder costs 2 sulfur and 3 charcoal per unit, and one Explosives item costs 50 gunpowder plus 10 sulfur, so it adds up fast. Here’s the full raw cost of each boom from the game’s own recipes:
| Explosive | Sulfur | Charcoal | Other materials | Workbench |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Timed Explosive Charge (C4) | 2,200 | 3,000 | 200 metal frags, 60 low grade, 5 cloth, 2 tech trash | 3 |
| Rocket | 1,400 | 1,950 | 100 metal frags, 30 low grade, 2 metal pipes | 3 |
| High Velocity Rocket | 200 | 300 | 1 metal pipe | 2 |
| Satchel Charge | 480 | 720 | 80 metal frags, 10 cloth, 1 rope | 1 |
| Beancan Grenade | 120 | 180 | 20 metal frags | 1 |
| Explosive 5.56 Ammo (per round) | 25 | 30 | 5 metal frags | 3 |
| MLRS Rocket | Not craftable. Loot only, fired from the MLRS at Abandoned Military Base. | |||
All the sulfur has to come from somewhere: a full sulfur node gives 300 ore and it smelts 1:1, so one C4 is just over seven nodes. Our sulfur guide covers the fastest ways to farm it, and the charcoal guide covers the other half of every gunpowder craft.
Cheapest Way to Raid Each Target (Eco Raiding)
Two simple rules cover nearly every raid:
- Shoot doors, blow walls. Explo ammo is cheapest on every door and on wood. C4 is cheapest on stone, sheet metal and armored walls.
- Pick the right tool for defences. HV rockets for auto turrets, satchels or molotovs for SAM sites, and explo rounds through a window for the TC.
Mixing booms like this saves a lot. A path of one sheet metal door, one garage door and two sheet metal walls costs 24,200 sulfur with C4 alone (11 C4), or 25,325 with explo alone. Mixing (explo on the doors, C4 on the walls) brings it down to 22,925 sulfur, a saving of more than a full C4. The raid calculator’s Smart Mix mode does this maths for you on any base.
When is a pricier boom worth it? Rockets are never the cheapest in sulfur, but they hit from range and don’t need you to stand at the wall. C4 is faster than a long explo spray, so on an online raid the time saved can matter more than a few hundred sulfur.
Raid Tips That Save Sulfur
- Count the path first. Walk around the base, find the weakest route to the loot and count every wall and door on it before you craft anything. Twig and wood pieces are the cheap way in.
- Bring spares. Beancans and satchels can dud. A dud satchel can be picked up and relit, but take one extra per door anyway.
- Keep explo rounds on one spot. The chart assumes every round hits the same door. Spread shots waste ammo, and the counts creep up fast.
- Kill turrets and the TC first. Turrets punish anyone standing at the wall, and a live TC lets the defenders repair and rebuild.
- Check the server rules. These are vanilla numbers. Modded servers can change explosive damage, and Softcore servers block raid damage outside their raid window. See our server types guide.
Defending instead? The same chart tells you where to spend. Every upgrade that pushes a raider from explo ammo onto C4 makes your base more expensive to hit. Our Rust base designs and base builder show how to layer doors and walls so the cheapest path still costs a lot.
Raid cost by target: how many satchels, rockets, C4 and explo ammo for a stone wall, sheet metal wall, armored wall, sheet metal door, garage door and armored door.

Rust Raid Chart FAQ
How much C4 does it take to raid a stone wall in Rust?
2 C4 (4,400 sulfur). The same wall takes 4 rockets, 10 satchel charges or 185 explosive 5.56 rounds. C4 is the cheapest option in sulfur on stone walls.
How many rockets for a sheet metal wall?
8 rockets, which is 11,200 sulfur. 4 C4 do the same job for 8,800 sulfur, so C4 is cheaper. It also takes 23 satchels or 400 explosive rounds.
How much explo ammo for a sheet metal door?
63 explosive 5.56 rounds, or 1,575 sulfur. That is cheaper than 1 C4 (2,200), 2 rockets (2,800) or 4 satchels (1,920).
How many satchels for an armored door?
15 satchel charges (7,200 sulfur). An armored door also takes 3 C4 (6,600), 5 rockets (7,000) or 250 explosive 5.56 rounds (6,250), which is the cheapest option.
What is the cheapest way to raid in Rust?
Use explosive 5.56 ammo on doors, wood walls and the tool cupboard, and C4 on stone, sheet metal and armored walls. For defences, use HV rockets on auto turrets and satchels or molotovs on SAM sites.
How much sulfur is one C4 in Rust?
One Timed Explosive Charge costs 2,200 sulfur and 3,000 charcoal in raw materials, plus 200 metal fragments, 60 low grade fuel, 5 cloth and 2 tech trash. It crafts at a Workbench 3.
Does it matter which side of the wall you blow?
Not for C4, rockets, satchels or beancans: they do the same damage to the hard side and the soft side of a wall. Explosive ammo is a little stronger on the soft side, and melee tools and normal bullets are much stronger there.
Can I print the Rust raid chart?
Yes. Download the free PDF on this page, print it in landscape with fit to page, and use page 2 for an ink saver version on a white background. It fits US Letter and A4.
Is this raid chart accurate for console and modded servers?
The numbers are for vanilla Rust on PC. Rust Console Edition runs its own build, so a few values can differ, and modded PC servers can change explosive damage or building health. Check your server’s rules if a count looks off.
